For this mid-week special I present some images of Françoise Rondeau, which I took at Studio Albatros, Paris on the night of 31st December 2015. The event, hosted by Gyohei Zaitsu & partner Maki, consisted of improvised experimental dance performances, staged in continuum over a period of 5 or 6 hours.
Throughout much of the evening the performance space was strewn with spasmodic, lurching bodies, combining their accentuated forms in twisted & fluid clusters. However, there were a few rare moments when the stage was occupied by a single performer, Françoise being one of them. I very much enjoyed her individual performance, & am grateful to have had the opportunity to capture in photogaphs some of her singularly expressive moments.
Françoise, I discovered, is also a photographer, whose work can be viewed here, on her website.
