For this blog I present a selection of images photographed in Dorset & Devon, England. The end of winter/beginning of spring time is upon the land & its inhabitants. There is much wetness covering the fields & greyness across the sky, interspersed with short, but welcome spells of bright, warm sunshine, illuminating the glittering verdure of the lush landscape.
My friend, with whom I am staying, has a collection of animals located in a field near her home. They include emu, alpaca, geese, ducks & other fowl. I have photographed them before, but this time with greater success, despite the cloud-locked, monotone sky. Creating contrast is key to succesful black & white images in these conditions.
For the animal images I used a 50mm lens & for the landscapes, taken at Seaton, Devon, a 35mm.
