Spring is often considered the favourite season of many Catalans, with ample measure of sunshine, temperatures rising above 20C & the whole province bursting into bloom, its mountainous terrain lush with verdure & its coastal locations sparkling with crystal turquoise waters.
It is the time of year I favour to make day trip jaunts to places of beauty & historical interest, since the amount of tourist activity is considerably lower than during the summer months. Recently, with a couple of friends, we wended our way by car north from Barcelona along the coastal road towards Cadaques on the Costa Brava, but once we'd stopped for a lunch break we decided to postpone our original destination for another time & instead enjoy the relaxing calm of charming Tossa de Mar.
