This is the second post of images taken of people on the streets of Barcelona during recent events generated because of the scheduled Catalan referendum & the intervention thereof by the Spanish government.
This post is focussed on the day of the referendum. I ventured out around 7am to a local language school which was also an official polling station. Almost the whole day was spent under cloud cover with much rain, though we were treated to a few much welcomed sunny spells.
I also visited Plaça de Catalunya where an event was taking place organised for people who oppose the independence of Catalunya from Spain.
Unlike many polling stations throughout Catalunya at which the Catalans were subjected to much police violence in attempts to prevent them from voting, the places I found myself were calm & the people allowed to cast their votes in peace.
