Yesterday I took myself once again, by bicycle, across the city, through the boiling traffic to Montjuïc. This time I already had in mind what I wanted to acheive: I had decided to shoot plants & flowers for the afternoon. There are several public gardens in the area, but some of them close rather too early, (such as the botanical garden, at 19'00), considering the sun sets at about 21'30 this time of year. Shooting any earlier than about 16'00 though there is too much overhead direct sunlight bleaching out the colours of flowers, etc. Despite the sweltering heat (about 27C) & cycling the unforgiving steepies that make up Montjuïc's body-form, I doggedly persevered to capture about 400 shots, which I have refined, processed & reduced to just under 30 for this blog.
