Still abroad, over the last few days I have been hanging out between the hours of showers with a vintage friend of mine criss-crossing the Dorset/Somerset border. There has been plenty of curry eating & music listening, song singing & partaking of the occasional bottle of ale. Altogether a mellow time endured most willingly.

Since the visit to Scotland last week I have endured even more rain, though of course the warm & lively company I am with always outweighs the cold & dreary weather. To be fair, there have been a few sunny spells when the temperature has warmed & at such times we pounced upon the opportunity to venture out, either on foot or by vehicle to photograph the local verdure adorned with its lush spring-time frondescence.
My friend is a keeper of animals; emus, rhea, chickens, geese, ducks, fowls, alpacas, ferrets & bees; none of them are reared for food. The animal menagerie was quite tricky to photograph, most of the individuals being of rather nervous disposition, but I managed to take a few images of them as they cautiously, or frenetically, circumnavigated my ever encroaching form.
Next up are a few insect shots. Most of these are of Helen's bees at the entrance to their hive, to & fro-ing between home & flora. There are a also a few taken in the nearby hedgerows.
Finally we took a trip to nearby Lewesdon Hill, one of my favourite places to visit in Dorset. I have focused a blog post on Lewesdon Hill before (view post here), but it always glows with an abundant energy that satiates the being in some unknowable way. I feel relaxed & content wandering around its crown, absorbed in the myriad floral offerings it proffers. At this time of year the woods on Lewesdon Hill are resplendent with fragrant carpets of bluebells & lush with the vitality of freshly budded trees, providing a fully immersive sensual experience. Magnificent!
